Opening times
November to mid-March :
8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday,
8.30am to 5.30pm on Saturdays,
and 9am to 5.30pm on Sundays and public holidays.
From mid-March to October :
8am to 6pm Monday to Friday,
8.30am to 6pm on Saturdays
and 9am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays.
Please note that the last visitors are admitted no later than 15 minutes before closing time.
Admission is free.
The 5 entrances to the cemetery
You can use these different entrances, but please note that they are accessible to pedestrians, vehicles and people with reduced mobility.
Main entrance :
This is the largest entrance to Père-Lachaise cemetery.
Address: does not have a postal address. (For information: located on boulevard de Ménilmontant, opposite rue de la Roquette).
Transport: Metro Philippe Auguste (line 2) – Bus 61, 69.
Porte du Repos (near the conservation area):
This is the entrance that leads to the conservation building, 20 m from the entrance on the left.
Address: 16 rue du repos, 75020 Paris.

Porte des Amandiers (near Père-Lachaise metro station):
Pedestrian gateway with Doric pilasters and pediment opening onto a staircase.
Address: does not have a postal address. (For information: located on boulevard de Ménilmontant, opposite Père-Lachaise metro station) Please note that there are around thirty steps to climb at this entrance.
Public transport: Père-Lachaise metro station (lines 2, 3) – Bus 61, 69.
Porte Gambetta (near the crematorium):
Address: does not have a postal address. (for information: located in the rue des Rondeaux, opposite the avenue du Père-Lachaise)
Transport: Metro Gambetta (line 3, 3bis) – Bus 26, 60, 61, 69, 102.
Porte de la Réunion :
Caution, via this entrance: access to the cemetery by means of a staircase.
Public transport: Métro Alexandre Dumas (line 2) – Bus 76.

Accessibility in the cemetery
Green space accessible to people with reduced mobility « for the most part », but some areas remain difficult to access (sometimes uneven paths of earth or old cobblestones).
Various prohibitions
- Consumption of alcohol and picnics within the cemetery,
- the use of sound equipment or musical instruments (unless exceptionally authorised in advance),
- feeding animals by throwing or depositing food of any kind, except by agreement,
- Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery, even on a lead,
- Bicycles and scooters are prohibited, even if hand-held,
- Sports activities such as jogging are prohibited.
